Where did the idea come from?

Hearing 'rotting' as the theme we figured a lot of people would jump to zombies or something related to dying. We wanted to avoid this so looked up the thesaurus meaning of rotting.

We found that rotting could mean 'to make fun of' and we instantly jumped to the idea of a comedy simulator. We then thought we could follow the journey of a comedian and if they failed we would consider it the end of thier career which met the 'to die' theme.

Finally we used the wildcard of the Monty Python foot as the rest of the game.

The System is a Joke

To create variation and have a lot of content Jordan spent the first part of the jam building a web scraper for a jokes website. We thought this would be quicker and more varied than coming up with a few jokes ourselves and using those.

It seemed we were right, we ended up having multiple categories that the player could pick from and over 11,000 jokes included in the game.
